Wuling’s compact electric vehicle receives positive appreciation from Tabloid Otomotif’s media peers
Jakarta, May 27, 2025 – Wuling Motors (Wuling) has once again received an award from the media. Wuling Air ev was selected as the Best of Light EV at the 2025 Otomotif Award organized by Tabloid Otomotif today at Black Owl, Kelapa Gading, Jakarta. This achievement adds to the list of awards for Wuling’s first electric vehicle marketed in Indonesia since 2022.

The 2025 Otomotif Award is an annual award event for automotive brand holders, both two-wheelers and four-wheelers, organized by Tabloid Otomotif. Entering its 18th year, this year’s Otomotif Award carries the theme ‘Rising with Optimism.’ The event announced winners in 35 car categories and 22 motorcycle categories. From a series of assessments during this award event, Wuling Air EV was awarded as the Best Light EV.
Wuling Air ev was launched globally in Indonesia in August 2022. This compact electric car is produced at Wuling’s factory in Cikarang, West Java. Throughout its journey, the Wuling Air ev has sold more than 19,000 units, making it the most popular electric car in the country. In addition, the Wuling Air ev has also participated in several high-level conferences held in Indonesia, such as the G20 Summit, ASEAN Summit, and AIS Forum Summit.
A brief overview about the Wuling Air ev, this vehicle carries an electric motor with a maximum power of 30 kW. That power is delivered by a Single Reduction Gear transmission to the rear wheels. As the heart of this compact vehicle’s power source, Wuling uses a lithium ferro-phosphate (LFP) battery with a capacity of 17.3 kWh for the 200-kilometer variant and 26.7 kWh for the 300-kilometer variant.
This emission-free vehicle offers a variety of conveniences to consumers, ranging from easy to use, easy home charging, to easy to own, supporting users to move freely through urban challenges. This battery electric vehicle from Wuling presents a modern mobility solution that includes home charging capability, certified and tested IP67 battery safety, a solid frame, and dual airbags at the front row seats to ensure safety throughout the journey. Wuling has also embedded smart features in the Air ev, such as the Wuling Remote Control App via MyWuling+ and the first Indonesian-language voice command, Wuling Indonesian Command (WIND).
