Jakarta, August 15, 2024 – The Wuling Cloud EV “Driving The Future of Comfort” Media Drive series continued today. This event, designed to share the smooth driving experience and modern features of Wuling’s medium hatchback, took participants on a journey along the Jakarta – Bogor – Jakarta route. A total of 28 journalists participated in the event, utilizing 7 units of the Wuling Cloud EV. In addition to the drive, the journalists were able to explore the innovative features of Wuling’s third electric vehicle.
In his opening remarks, Liu Yan, Marketing Operation Director of Wuling Motors, stated, “This special occasion offers media friends the chance to experience daily driving with the Wuling medium hatchback EV on the Jakarta – Bogor route and back. Alongside its focus on comfort, the Cloud EV is equipped with various modern features that make driving more enjoyable. These include the Advanced Driving Assistance System, Indonesian voice commands, vehicle status monitoring via the MyWuling+ app, and a smart electric tailgate.”
The Media Drive kicked off at Aroem Resto in Petojo, Central Jakarta. From this starting point, the convoy began their urban driving experience en route to a DC Charging station at Sudirman Park SCBD. Supportive features such as the Auto Vehicle Hold (AVH) in the Cloud EV provided added comfort and safety during the congested traffic. Additionally, the All-Around 360 Camera proved invaluable for parking maneuvers.
Upon arriving at the SCBD DC Charging station, the journalists witnessed one of the growing network of DC Charging points, which now includes 16 locations with 17 chargers across Jakarta, Tangerang, Bekasi, and toll road rest areas towards Semarang. Using these charging stations requires the E Charge International app, where users can scan a QR code after registering and logging in to input charging details. Charging begins with a simple press of the Start Charging button, and the charging status is visible on the app’s screen. Once charging is complete, users can return the DC connector to its original place.
Continuing their journey out of central Jakarta, the journalists visited the Chinese Indonesian Museum at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII). While driving on the highway, the Cloud EV’s standout feature, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), provided added comfort by maintaining a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, ensuring a safer drive. TMII is also EV-friendly, allowing only electric vehicles to enter the attraction directly.
“Wuling Cloud EV is also equipped with Intelligent Driving Assistance (IDA) to help drivers stay within their lane while adjusting the speed and distance to the vehicle in front. Additionally, Intelligent Head Beam Assistance (IHMA) automatically adjusts the use of high and low beams according to ambient lighting conditions. These features ensure that the comfort, safety, and ease of driving are directly experienced by the journalists participating in today’s Cloud EV Media Drive,” added Alfonsus Marvel, Product Planning at Wuling Motors.
This long yet comfortable journey continued to Richie Garden Resto in Bogor for a brief coffee break. Here, the media also took part in the Sofa Mode and Smart Electric Tailgate Challenge, testing their speed and accuracy in using these two standout features of the Cloud EV.
After the exciting activities in Bogor, the media convoy returned to Jakarta, concluding their drive at Aruma in Ampera, South Jakarta. The total distance covered was approximately 135 kilometers. On the return trip to Jakarta, the journalists enjoyed the Energy Recovery Mode, which optimizes energy efficiency, and the reliable Indonesian voice commands for adjusting vehicle settings.
