Warta Ekonomi recognizes Wuling’s commitment to promoting sustainable transportation through strategic PR initiatives

Jakarta, January 25, 2025 – Wuling Motors (Wuling) kicks off the new year with another prestigious recognition from the media. This time, Wuling has been awarded ‘Best Public Relations 2025 in Driving Awareness and Adoption of Sustainable Transportation Solutions’ in the automotive category at the Indonesia Public Relations Awards (IPRA) 2025, organized by Warta Ekonomi. The award ceremony was held at Golden Ballroom 3, The Sultan Hotel & Residence Jakarta, on Friday evening, January 24.

Warta Ekonomi presented this award as a recognition of Wuling’s active role in educating the public through social media and mass media, supporting the transition to eco-friendly vehicles, and increasing awareness and adoption of sustainable transportation solutions in Indonesia.

Wuling’s recognition as ‘Best Public Relations 2025 in Driving Awareness and Adoption of Sustainable Transportation Solutions’ was evaluated based on several key criteria, including the effectiveness of communication strategies in raising public awareness about sustainable transportation, the level of audience engagement across various digital communication channels, and the positive impact on the adoption of electric vehicles in Indonesia.

Wuling began its electric vehicle journey by introducing the Air ev in August 2022, which became a trendsetter in Indonesia’s EV market with its modern design and convenient home charging capability. By the end of 2023, Wuling launched the BinguoEV, an iconic-styled hatchback EV, followed by the Cloud EV in 2024, a medium electric hatchback focusing on driving comfort and safety. These three models are collectively known as Wuling EV ABC Stories. In addition to expanding its EV product lineup, Wuling has also strengthened the electric vehicle industry ecosystem by inaugurating the MAGIC Battery production line in Cikarang in late December 2024.

The Indonesia Public Relations Awards (IPRA) is an annual event organized by Warta Ekonomi to recognize companies with the best public relations performances across various industries. This year marks the ninth edition of IPRA 2025, themed “Crossing Cultures and Channels, Public Relations in the Digital Era”, highlighting how companies can adapt innovative communication strategies in the digital age to reach broader and more diverse audiences. The event features more than 22 categories, covering various industries, including automotive, emphasizing the importance of adaptive and innovative communication strategies in the automotive sector.

The evaluation process for IPRA 2025 included multiple methodologies, such as desk research, media monitoring to assess the quality of corporate public relations, and content analysis to identify positive sentiment across mainstream and social media. Key evaluation indicators included perceived interactivity with digital media usage, interactivity and online relational strategies, and relational outcomes with stakeholders, all of which were derived from PR campaigns conducted throughout 2024.

This achievement adds to the list of accolades earned by Wuling’s PR team in building a positive brand image and enhancing brand communication. Previously, Wuling’s PR team won the ‘PR Person Award 2024’ and ‘Corporate Reputation Award 2024’ at The 5th Indonesia PR Awards by The Iconomics, as well as the ‘Public Relations of The Year’ title at the OTOMOTIF Award 2019, recognizing the effectiveness of Wuling’s PR strategies in increasing consumer awareness and engagement.
