Wuling Participates in Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicle Touring Jakarta-Bali 2022

As a form of Wuling’s support to make the G20 Summit series of activities successful with the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia
Jakarta, 7 November 2022 – Strengthening its commitment to the success of the G20 Summit, Wuling Motors (Wuling) through Air ev participated in activities that were part of a series of events ahead of the G20 Summit, namely Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicles Touring, which was held at the National Monument (Monas) today. The event, which was initiated by the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, began with a flag-off ceremony with the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, Budi Karya Sumadi, and the plan is that the group will arrive in Bali on November 11, 2022.
“Our participation in this event is a form of Wuling’s commitment to bring environmentally friendly mobility to a greener Indonesia in the future. Wuling is also proud to be a part of supporting the acceleration of vehicle electrification from the government which we realize by participating in this Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicle Touring activity,” said Dian Asmahani as Brand & Marketing Director of Wuling Motors.
The tour, which will be held in five days, will pass through various cities in Java, including Cirebon, Semarang, Solo, Surabaya, Jember, Banyuwangi, and will arrive in Bali via Gilimanuk Port. There are two regencies or cities that are stopovers for the socialization of driving safety with electric vehicles, namely Solo on November 8, 2022, and Jember on November 9, 2022. This can certainly be a means for the Ministry of Transportation and participants to expand information about electric vehicles to the public. In total, this touring trip covers a distance of 1,250 kilometers.
Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, expressed his support for accelerating the electrification of electric vehicles in Indonesia, “We are very supportive and this is a good experience. Arriving in Bali, we will create an exhibition so that people from abroad can see that we have a great effort and this must be consistent and done by all parties. Let us be together, not only touring but from the heart making a leap, a great migration for the nation.”
Furthermore, Hendro Sugiatno, Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia also conveyed the purpose of holding this activity in his remarks and report, “This activity aims to support the sustainable energy transition, socialize Presidential Regulation number 55 of 2019 concerning the acceleration of the battery-based electric vehicle (KLBB) program, as well as introduce and accelerate the use of electric vehicles by the Indonesian people.”
Arriving in Bali, Wuling will display its electric vehicles in an exhibition event held at the Bali Collection, Nusa Dua. In addition to exhibiting 1 unit of Air ev, Wuling also provides a test drive unit to be tried by visitors who want to feel the sensation of environmentally friendly driving with this zero-emission vehicle. This event will also be closed by the Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia on November 11, 2022.
