15 August, 2024
In Addition to Experiencing Driving with Wuling’s Third EV, Participants Also Tested DC Charging Facilities
Jakarta, August 14, 2024 – Wuling continued its “Driving The Future of Comfort” Media Drive event with the Cloud EV today, involving 28 (twenty-eight) automotive journalists. This event aimed to provide a firsthand experience of the comfort offered by Wuling’s hatchback EV. A total of 7 (seven) Cloud EV units were prepared for the adventure, which followed the Jakarta – Sentul – Bogor – Jakarta route. In addition to emphasizing comfort, Wuling’s third electric vehicle is also equipped with a variety of modern features.
Liu Yan, Marketing Operation Director of Wuling Motors, stated, “On this special occasion, our media partners can experience daily driving with Wuling’s medium hatchback EV on the Jakarta – Bogor route and back to Jakarta. In addition to emphasizing comfort, the Cloud EV is supported by a range of modern features that make the driving experience more enjoyable. These include the Advanced Driving Assistance System, Indonesian language voice commands, the ability to check vehicle status via the MyWuling+ app, and a smart electric tailgate.”
The flag-off was held at the starting point at Aroem Restaurant in Petojo, Central Jakarta, where the group began their journey to the DC Charging station at Sudirman Park SCBD as the first destination. During this urban drive, the journalists experienced comfortable driving in heavy city traffic, thanks to the supportive features of the Cloud EV, such as Auto Vehicle Hold (AVH), which provides extra comfort and safety, and the All-Around 360 Camera, which facilitates reverse parking.
Upon arriving at Sudirman Park, the journalists had the opportunity to observe one of the DC Charging networks that continues to expand, now available at 16 locations with 17 DC Charging units spread across Jakarta, Tangerang, Bekasi, and rest areas on the toll road towards Semarang. Using this charging system requires the E Charge International app, and after registering and logging into the app, users can scan a QR code to input charging details. They then start the charging process by pressing the Start Charging button, with the charging status displayed on the app screen. Once charging is complete, users can return the DC connector to its original place.
After visiting the DC Charging station, the media group continued their journey to another location, embarking on an adventure in the Sentul area for a paintball session. Throughout the journey, the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) feature, part of the Cloud EV’s ADAS suite, was frequently used, along with the four driving modes available on the highway. The route to the paintball venue was challenging, with steep inclines and narrow roads, but the 15.6-inch control panel screen provided clear visuals, making the drive manageable.
The next destination was Kopi Nako, where the participants enjoyed a brief relaxation while engaging in the Sofa Mode Challenge and Smart Electric Tailgate Challenge. These challenges tested the participants’ speed and accuracy in using the Sofa Mode feature, which allows the rear cabin to be transformed into a comfortable seating area, as well as the Smart Electric Tailgate, which can be opened and closed via voice command, key detection, or through the head unit.
The Media Drive concluded at Aruma in Ampera, Jakarta. With this last location, the distance reached by media partners is around 145 kilometers. On the way back to Jakarta, journalists enjoyed the Energy Recovery Mode feature that optimizes energy efficiency.
“Cloud EV is equipped with Atmospheric Multicolor Ambient Light and can be adjusted through the 15.6“ intelligent control panel which can certainly decorate the cabin and is very attractive when driving at night,” said Aji Ibrahim as Product Planning Wuling Motors.
