Wuling Hosts Cloud EV Media Drive with National Media, Covering 200 Kilometers

Touring Jakarta – Bogor – Jakarta with Wuling’s Medium Hatchback EV in Everyday Mobility Activities
Jakarta, August 13, 2024 – Wuling invited national media partners to experience the comfort of the latest addition to ABC Stories family, the Cloud EV, during a Media Drive event titled “Driving The Future of Comfort” held on August 13, 2024. This event featured 7 (seven) units of the Wuling Cloud EV, allowing participants to experience the vehicle in everyday driving conditions. A total of 27 (twenty-seven) journalists from various national media outlets were given the opportunity to experience the comfort of the Cloud EV, a medium-sized hatchback EV equipped with advanced features.
“On this special occasion, our media partners can experience daily driving with Wuling’s medium hatchback EV on the Jakarta – Bogor route and back to Jakarta. In addition to emphasizing comfort, the Cloud EV is supported by a range of modern features that make the driving experience more enjoyable. These include the Advanced Driving Assistance System, Indonesian language voice commands, the ability to check vehicle status via the MyWuling+ app, and a smart electric tailgate,” said Liu Yan, Marketing Operation Director of Wuling Motors.
The journey began at the starting point located at Aroem Restaurant in Petojo, Central Jakarta, with the first destination, Club de Arjuna. This initial stop is a Golf Driving Range located in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta. Throughout the urban journey, journalists were treated to the Auto Vehicle Hold (AVH) feature, which provides extra comfort during stop-and-go traffic, as well as the All-Around 360 Camera, which aids in parking maneuvers.
The journalists then continued their journey to a DC Charging station located at Sudirman Park. Here, they had the opportunity to observe one of the DC Charging networks, which continues to expand, now available at 16 locations with 17 DC Charging units spread across Jakarta, Tangerang, Bekasi, and rest areas on the toll road towards Semarang. Using this facility requires the E Charge International app, and after registration and logging into the app, users can scan a QR code to input charging details. Following that, users can start the charging process by pressing the Start Charging button, with the charging status displayed on the app’s screen. Once charging is complete, users can return the DC connector to its original place.
The Cloud EV media drive then proceeded to the next destination, Langit Teduh Resto & Resort, located in the Bogor area through Cibitung-Cimanggis and Jagorawi Toll Road. At this location, the journalists were invited to participate in two exciting challenges: the Sofa Mode Challenge, where each team competed to create “sofa mode” in the shortest time, and the Smart Electric Tailgate Challenge, which challenged them to use three different methods to quickly open the trunk. These activities further emphasized the ease and comfort offered by the Wuling Cloud EV.
Danang Wiratmoko, Product Planning Wuling Motors added, “Wuling Cloud EV is equipped with four driving modes namely Eco+, Eco, Normal, and Sport. Each driving mode has its own character that can be selected based on user preferences in their mobility activities.”
The first round of the Media Drive successfully covered a distance of 200 kilometers, with the finish point at Aruma, located in Ampera, South Jakarta. During the return journey to Jakarta, the media once again enjoyed the driving experience with the Wuling Cloud EV, which offers a comfortable ride thanks to its premium interior. Features such as Energy Recovery Mode, which optimizes energy efficiency, and the 8.8-inch MID screen, which is informative, along with the steering wheel that can be adjusted for both tilt and telescopic settings, provided flexibility in driving adjustments.
