Wuling to Market and Produce This Latest Model in Indonesia, Available in EV and PHEV Variants
Tangerang, July 23, 2025 – At the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025, Wuling Motors (Wuling) unveils the global debut of the Wuling Cortez Darion. This latest Wuling product, available in EV and PHEV variants, will be marketed in Indonesia and produced at Wuling’s manufacturing facility in Cikarang, West Java. The launch of this new model reinforces Wuling’s commitment to continuously develop eco-friendly products while offering relevant mobility solutions for Indonesian consumers.
“In celebration of Wuling’s 8th anniversary in Indonesia, we proudly present the global premiere of our latest MPV, the Wuling Cortez Darion. Aligned with the spirit of ‘Dibangun di Indonesia untuk Anda’, the name Darion is inspired by the phrase ‘Dari Indonesia’ (From Indonesia). Moreover, the word ‘Darion’ also means ‘Gift’ in Greek. Meanwhile, ‘Cortez’ originates from the Spanish word ‘Corteous,’ which means dignified. The name Cortez has been associated with Wuling’s medium MPV line since 2018. On this occasion, we are also pleased to announce that Cortez Darion is now available for pre-order starting today,” said Ricky Christian, Marketing Operation Director of Wuling Motors.
The presence of the Wuling Cortez Darion is rooted in the strong value of togetherness that is deeply embedded in Indonesian culture. Traveling with family is more than just a journey, it is filled with meaning and memorable stories at every step. Based on this, Wuling took the initiative to introduce a new energy-based 7-seater MPV designed for family trips. The arrival of the Cortez Darion continues Wuling’s success in the MPV segment, now elevated to the next level with electrification innovations.
It is an honor for Indonesia to be the first country to host the 1st Global Appearance of this MPV. This decision was made for a reason, as this MPV is inspired by the family journeys of Indonesia, which emphasize togetherness. With its 7-seater configuration and captain seats, the Cortez Darion is designed to meet space and comfort needs while delivering a premium driving experience.
In terms of design, the Cortez Darion adopts an Elegant Streamline concept, featuring sleek lines that flow seamlessly from the front to the rear, creating harmony between modern style and sophistication. This design is not just about aesthetics but also reflects Wuling’s approach to combining functionality and added value for families.
Inside the cabin, the Cortez Darion ensures comfort on every row, supported by dimensions of 4,910 mm x 1,850 mm x 1,770 mm and a wheelbase of 2,910 mm. Entry access is enhanced by the Autocomfort Sliding Door feature, while an electric sunroof adds a luxurious touch to the cabin.
Wuling is offering the Cortez Darion in two variants. The first is the EV variant, powered by a 150 kW electric motor with a range of up to 540 km (CLTC), supported by CCS2 fast charging that can charge from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes. Meanwhile, the PHEV variant combines a 1.5L Dedicated Hybrid Engine with a 145 kW electric motor and Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) to deliver smooth and responsive acceleration. In EV mode, this car can travel up to 125 km, with a total combined range of over 1,000 km.
