Wuling Celebrates 7th Anniversary, Embracing the Spirit of ‘Melangkah Bersama Indonesia’

Achieving Milestones like No.1 EV Brand in Indonesia, Top Automotive Brands, and EV Exporter
Tangerang Selatan, July 17, 2024 – During the GIIAS Exclusive Media Day, Wuling Motors (Wuling) explained the spirit of ‘Melangkah Bersama Indonesia‘ which became the main theme in Wuling’s 7th Anniversary in Indonesia. The presentation contained a variety of Wuling’s achievements during its 7-year journey in Indonesia, starting from the beginning of the factory inauguration in 2017 to the successes achieved until 2024. As an illustration, Wuling’s factory in Indonesia has produced more than 146,000 units to meet domestic and overseas mobility needs.
In 7 years, Wuling has presented seven lines of passenger vehicles from both the ICE, Hybrid, and EV segments to provide a wide range of options for the diverse mobility needs of the Indonesian community. The entire Wuling product line is also produced locally at the facility of the Wuling factory in Indonesia. Wuling has been supported by a network of more than 150 dealers spread across Indonesia to serve sales and after-sales for consumers.

In the increasingly competitive EV segment, Wuling has solidified its position with over 20,000 units sold in Indonesia cumulatively. With these figures, Wuling EVs have dominated the local electric vehicle market with a 52% market share from the beginning of the year until June 2024, making Wuling the No.1 EV brand in Indonesia,” explained Arif Pramadana, Vice President of Wuling Motors.
Wuling EV ABC Stories, which is a family of electric vehicles consisting of Air ev, BinguoEV, and Cloud EV. All three are present to provide a variety of choices that suit the mobility needs of Indonesian people. The entire Wuling EV line up is produced in Cikarang, West Java and is Wuling’s real support in the government program of accelerating vehicle electrification in Indonesia.
In addition to the domestic market, Wuling has also been expanding by posting export figures of close to 5,500 units with 14 destination countries. Interestingly, one-third of these exports are electric vehicles. This makes Wuling the only Indonesian automotive manufacturer that exports EVs as a whole to overseas. This export achievement also proves that the quality of products made in Indonesia can compete in foreign markets.
To maximize the safe and comfortable EV driving experience, Wuling equips each of its electric vehicles with high-quality and safety-tested batteries for all products marketed domestically and exported. Wuling EV batteries have passed various rigorous tests and to date, there have been no incidents of them catching fire by themselves. In addition to battery safety, we have also established a strategic partnership with Gotion Hi-Tech for the localization of quality electric car batteries and this is certainly a serious step by Wuling in the industrial development of the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia.
In Indonesia, Wuling provides Lifetime Core EV Components Warranty with every electric vehicle to ensure a worry-free ownership experience. Wuling is the first EV brand in Indonesia to offer a lifetime warranty on the main components of its electric vehicles.
