Highlighting the Easy-to-Personalize Value of Wuling’s First Electric Car in Indonesia
South Tangerang, July 20, 2024 – Wuling’s Air ev has successfully captured the interest of many consumers in Indonesia through its unique combination of features. These include easy to use (convenient and practical driving), easy home charging (capable of home charging), and easy to own (affordable operational and maintenance costs). In addition to these aspects, there is another significant feature: easy to personalize, which has now become a trend among Wuling Air ev owners. Recognizing this phenomenon, Wuling is showcasing two personalized Air ev units owned by customers at their booth throughout the GIIAS 2024 exhibition.
“The Wuling Air ev has a compact design and a range of up to 300 kilometers. Additionally, it is easy to find parking. The reason for personalizing is that when we see identical cars, it can be confusing in the parking lot; we often have to check the license plate. But with personalization, we’ve modified it so uniquely that we recognize our car without needing to look at the plate,” explained Dewangga Alam, one of the proud owners showcasing his customized Air ev at the event.
Dewangga changed his pastel blue Air ev to a fountain blue color inspired by his childhood toy, Tamiya. In addition, he also changed the color of the front lights to blue to match the body of the car. Then, there are additional boxes located on the right-left side of the car so that it looks as if the car is using a headset. The additional bodykit ornaments around the body include a spoiler that enhances the sporty aura.
“I chose the fountain blue color. The personalization I did makes it look like a real-life Tamiya diecast. Tamiya colors are usually blue or red, but there’s no red available, only pink. The blue one worked. Some Tamiyas had blue because I collected Tamiyas in my childhood,” he added.
Apart from the outside of the car, Dewangga also gave a touch of personalization in the cabin by changing the color of the car seats to blue and black to match the theme of the car. Dewangga’s personalization is not only unique, but also creates its own identity when he is hanging out with his community friends.
Another Air ev user, Sakura, elaborates. “My Air ev is actually used for school pick-up and drop-off purposes, then I modified it by changing the tire tread width. So now I sometimes use the Air ev to commute Cikarang-Bandung-Cikarang if I’m alone or with my wife because the tire tread changes make the Air ev look more proper and useful too“, he explained.
Sakura’s functional personalization also includes the addition of a roofbox to the car to store more items. Furthermore, Sakura added another compartment space in the center that also functions as an armrest for a more comfortable and relaxing ride. Not to forget, the USB port was added there so that he could charge his gadgets.
With all these modifications, Sakura feels that the Air ev’s perception as a small car that can only be used in urban areas, can actually be used for long-distance travel. “Because of the changes, the air ev has become a more useful vehicle and the modifications are added to suit our needs,” Sakura added.
