Regional Media Partners Test Innovation from Wuling Almaz Hybrid at JIEC

Wuling invited media colleagues from various cities to drive with Almaz Hybrid on the circuit
Jakarta, 5 November 2022 – Two days after its launch, Wuling Motors (Wuling) also invited media colleagues from outside Jakarta to experience the first hybrid car from Wuling in Indonesia in the ‘Wuling Almaz Hybrid First Impression’ activity. These journalists who came from various cities in particular had the opportunity to test the innovation and performance of this latest Wuling SUV on the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) in the Ancol area, North Jakarta.

This time the driving activity was carried out on a 2.4 kilometer track which was divided into several sectors to test the advantages and innovations of the Almaz Hybrid. Before driving, the participants were explained about this hybrid SUV product from Danang Wiratmoko as Wuling Motors Product Planning. Then, the Safety Defensive Consultant Indonesia (SDCI) team gave a socialization of driving safety which was followed by doing a track orientation round together. Then, media colleagues had the opportunity to try four Almaz Hybrid units on the provided tracks and obstacles starting from the acceleration area on the first 600 meter straight line, driving comfort with the hybrid system, ADAS testing, zig-zag, and free areas in the last sector. Each participant has the opportunity for two rounds around the provided track.
In this event, regional media partners tested the Almaz Hybrid’s performance up to 100 km/hour. Impressive performance is present through a combination of an internal combustion engine and an electric motor, namely a 4-cylinder petrol engine with a capacity of 2,000cc and an electric motor powered by a battery. The power output generated by this combination is delivered to the front wheels via a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). In addition, the intelligent system on the Almaz Hybrid also produces a pleasant performance sensation with low noise and vibration levels.
Then, the media partner drove with a hybrid system that automatically selects the most suitable driving mode based on battery conditions, speed, and driver needs. Moving to the ADAS testing area, here the media partner activated Adaptive Cruise Control and drove to follow the speed of the vehicle in front automatically with the help of this feature. Media colleagues also drove safer with the Almaz Hybrid thanks to the help of the Safe Distance Warning and Braking Assistance feature.
While driving, media colleagues also had the opportunity to feel the comfort of the cabin of Wuling’s first hybrid product in Indonesia. Almaz Hybrid comes with new nuances in the interior through a touch of warm beige color and soft panels that further add to the premium impression. In addition, this SUV has a futuristic new transmission lever design and a New Digital TFT Meter Cluster.
As additional information, various advanced innovations from Wuling are also present to complement the Almaz Hybrid such as the first voice command feature that uses Indonesian, Wuling Indonesian Command (WIND) and Wuling Remote Control App technology via Internet of Vehicle (IoV). This hybrid SUV is also supported by other safety features such as Front and Side SRS Airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control System, ABS braking, EBD, BA, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Hill Hold Control, to Auto Vehicle Holding.
