Types of Electronic Ticket Violations, Fines & Payment Methods

Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) or electronic ticketing system has officially been implemented in 12 regional police areas (Polda) in Indonesia, which can automatically detect various violations. Implementing the electronic ticketing system aims to improve driving discipline and minimize individuals who commit extortion when taking action against traffic violators
In addition, with the implementation of this electronic ticketing system nationally, it is hoped that it can take action against vehicle violations with police number plates originating from outside the area. For example, with the application of an electronic ticketing system, a car with an H plate (from Semarang) can be prosecuted when committing a violation in Yogyakarta.

Types of Electronic Ticketing Violations
According to the NTMC page, according to Law No. 22 of 2009, concerning Road Traffic and Transportation (LLAJ), there are ten types of traffic violations that can be prosecuted by electronic ticketing nationally.
- Violation of road markings and traffic signs
- Not wearing a seat belt when driving
- Using a smartphone while driving
- Maximum speed limit violation
- Motorized vehicles that use fake number plates
- Running a red light
- Riding against the tide
- Riding a motorcycle without wearing a helmet,
- Riding a motorbike for more than three people,
- Motorcycles not turning on the lights during the day.
The electronic ticketing system (ETLE) will be monitored through 244 electronic ticketing cameras installed in 12 Polda areas in Indonesia and can identify all types of violations at any time. The following is a list of 12 regional police areas that have implemented an electronic ticket system (ETLE)
- Polda Metro Jaya
- Banten Police
- West Java Regional Police
- Central Java Police
- Yogyakarta Special Region Police
- East Java Regional Police
- Riau Police
- Jambi Police
- Lampung Regional Police
- West Sumatra Police
- North Sulawesi Police
- South Sulawesi Regional Police.
How Much Is The Fine?
Electronic ticketing cameras that catch traffic violations and those who violate will be subject to fines following Law (UU) No 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation (UU LLAJ).
The following is the amount of the electronic fine that you should know.
- Using a smartphone can be subject to a prison sentence of up to 3 months or a maximum fine of IDR 750,000 in accordance with article 283 of the LLAJ Law.
- Driver not wearing a seat belt while driving is punishable by up to one month in prison or a fine of IDR 250,000.
- Violation of road markings and traffic signs can be subject to a prison sentence of up to 2 months or a maximum fine of IDR 500,000 in accordance with article 287 paragraph 1.
- Riding a motorcycle without wearing a helmet is punishable by up to 1 month in prison or a maximum fine of IDR 250,000 in accordance with article 106 paragraph 8 of the LLAJ Law that every driver and passenger of a motorcycle must wear a helmet according to the Indonesian National Standard (SNI).
- Motorized vehicles that use fake number plates can be subject to a prison sentence of up to 2 months or a maximum fine IDR 500,000 in accordance with article 280.
How To Pay For The Fines?
Traffic violators can directly pay the electronic ticket fines through tellers, ATMs, mobile banking, internet banking, and EDC to the BRI ETLE account of Polda Metro Jaya.
Via BRI Teller
- Fill in the deposit slip
- Fill in the 15-digit ticket payment number in the account number column
- Fill in the amount of fines to be paid in the nominal column
- Submit the slip to the Teller.
Via ATM, Mobile Banking, Internet Banking, or EDC BRIVA
- Insert the card into the ATM, or open mobile/internet banking
- Select the Payment menu
- Select the Other Transaction menu
- Select the Payment menu
- Select the More menu
- Select the BRIVA menu
- Enter the 15 digits Ticket Payment Number
- Adjust the payment details on the confirmation page
- If using mobile banking, continue by entering the PIN, while internet banking to be able to continue must enter the password and mToken
- Follow the next steps until the transaction is complete.
Non-BRI Payments
- Use the appropriate ATM for your bank
- Select the Payment menu
- Select Other Transactions
- Select Transfer
- Choose Another Bank Account
- Enter the BRI code (002) followed by a 15-digit ticket payment number
- Enter the amount of the fine to be paid
- Follow the next steps until the transaction is complete.
After completing the payment, please save the transaction receipt, deposit slip, or SMS notification as proof of payment to get back the evidence confiscated by the prosecution.
