Wuling Cloud EV Successfully Completes Jakarta-Bali Route in the PLN Mobile EVenture Event

Three Cloud EV units participated in this electric vehicle holiday journey to test charging station readiness for the holiday season
Jakarta, December 10, 2024 – In support of accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in Indonesia, Wuling Motors (Wuling) reaffirms its commitment through participation in the PLN Mobile EVenture: Holiday Journey with Electric Vehicles event. This initiative aims to showcase the advantages and benefits of EVs while assessing the readiness of public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) along the Jakarta-Bali route ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays. As part of its involvement, Wuling deployed three units of the Cloud EV – Driving The Future of Comfort – which proved to be reliable and comfortable, successfully completing this long-distance journey.

The Cloud EV, a medium hatchback EV, was officially launched in Indonesia in May 2024. As Wuling’s third electric vehicle, it is designed to offer maximum comfort with its spacious cabin and ergonomic interior features, such as Italian Bubble Sofa Style seats, which are electrically adjustable in six directions for the driver and four directions for the front passenger. With a range of up to 460 kilometers on a single charge, the Cloud EV provides reliability for long-distance travel without frequent charging. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with advanced technology, including the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which ensures optimal safety with features like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Safe Distance Warning (SDW), and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), enabling drivers to stay focused throughout the journey.
Beyond comfort and safety, the Cloud EV boasts various advanced features that enhance the user experience. Its interactive WIND feature allows voice command operation in Indonesian, while the Sofa Mode provides extra cabin comfort. Coupled with a 15.6-inch control screen, the Cloud EV epitomizes a modern electric vehicle, blending comfort, technology, and efficiency.
The PLN Mobile EVenture journey began at the Head Office of PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) on Jl. Trunojoyo, South Jakarta, with the first stop at PLN UP3 Cikokol, Tangerang. The convoy continued to PLN UP3 Bandung, PLN UID Jateng and DIY, and PLN UP3 Surabaya Selatan. After stopping at the Utama Raya Rest Area in Situbondo, the journey proceeded to Hotel Santika Banyuwangi for the final charging session before reaching the finish line at Living World Denpasar, Bali. The event, held from December 3–8, 2024, covered a total distance of approximately 1,357 kilometers. The Cloud EV completed the journey in normal driving mode, showcasing its efficiency and reliability for long-distance travel.
Participation in this event is part of a joint campaign to promote environmental sustainability and the transition to cleaner energy. During the journey, the Wuling Cloud EV completed five charging sessions at strategic locations. The first session took place at Rest Area KM 57A with a DC charging station, followed by Rest Area KM 207A and Rest Area KM 379A with Wuling’s DC Charging facilities. The fourth session was conducted at the Utama Raya Rest Area in Situbondo, and the final session at Hotel Santika Banyuwangi utilized AC charging provided by the hotel.
Additionally, the PLN Mobile EVenture: Holiday Journey with Electric Vehicles serves as a multi-stakeholder collaboration involving government agencies, energy providers, automotive manufacturers, and EV user communities. This event aims to strengthen synergy among stakeholders to accelerate the transformation toward a greener and more sustainable lifestyle. Beyond promoting EVs, the event serves as a platform to educate the public on the benefits of clean energy, the reliability of electric vehicles for long-distance travel, and the importance of supporting carbon emission reductions.
