A Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative in Sustainability Through Electric Vehicle Donation
Bandung, November 26, 2024 – Wuling Motors (Wuling) reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the clean energy transition through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in sustainability by supporting electric vehicles for operational cars. Wuling symbolically handed over two pristine white Cloud EV units to the West Java Provincial Government. The ceremony, held on Monday (11.25) at Gedung Pakuan in Bandung, represents Wuling’s tangible contribution to achieving net-zero emissions while strengthening the global partnership between West Java and Guangxi Provinces.
“We are proud to take part in promoting the adoption of electric vehicles in Indonesia. The handover of Wuling Cloud EV not only symbolizes the collaboration between these two provinces on a global scale but also reflects our commitment to accelerating the electrification of motor vehicles in Indonesia and fostering the creation of a sustainable transportation ecosystem,” said Liu Yan, Marketing Director of Wuling Motors.
The symbolic handover ceremony were officially presented by the Governor of Guangxi Province, H.E. Mr. Lan Tianli, to the Acting Governor of West Java, Mr. Bey Machmudin. This event further solidified the relationship between West Java and Guangxi, which have long been sister provinces. Through this partnership, the two provinces aim to enhance collaboration across various sectors, including trade, culture, education, and green technology, with electric vehicles as a key focus.
This initiative underscores Wuling’s commitment to working with local governments and private sectors to accelerate the adoption of green technology in West Java. In addition to donating electric vehicles, Wuling also opens opportunities for collaboration in emission reduction programs, renewable energy utilization, and the development of a more robust electric vehicle ecosystem. Through this effort, Wuling hopes to make a meaningful impact on improving the environmental quality in the region.
The Wuling Cloud EV, donated as part of this initiative, is the third electric vehicle officially launched by Wuling in Indonesia in May 2024. It features a spacious cabin and ergonomic interior design designed to provide maximum comfort for users. With a range of up to 460 kilometers on a single charge, the Cloud EV allows for long-distance travel without frequent recharging. In addition to comfort and long range, the Medium Hatchback EV is equipped with a full range of safety systems to ensure optimal safety for its users in various driving conditions.
