Understanding Car Warranty & The Difference with Guarantee

Just bought a new car unit? Make sure you understand the meaning of the warranty. This is one of the guarantees given by the dealer or car manufacturer for several important components in the vehicle.
Maybe there are still many who think that warranty has the same meaning as guarantee. However, in practice, these two terms have very different meanings, so you need to understand them well so you don’t use them incorrectly.

About the Car Warranty
A warranty is a written guarantee of product quality and a statement of the manufacturer’s responsibility to repair and replace the product free of charge in the event of design and workmanship problems found in a new vehicle.
Every new unit will usually get a warranty card that has a different validity period. If the vehicle owner finds that there is a problem with the design and the product he purchased, he can submit a claim to get a repair or replacement with a new component.
Manufacturers usually provide a warranty for components that are damaged due to product errors and not parts that are damaged due to age. Regarding the warranty, it is usually explained in detail in the maintenance book and warranty guide that is given when buying a new car.
Warranty Exclusion
The manufacturer does not provide warranty for every component in the vehicle. Components that are damaged, worn out, or run out due to their service life such as oil, brake pads, filters, tires and spark plugs are not included in the warranty for the brand holder.
Please note that the warranty is limited. This warranty only applies to components that are experiencing problems. For example, if there is a problem with the engine or suspension.
How to Claim Warranty
FIling le a car warranty claim is quite easy. You only need to come to the official vehicle repair shop with the car and warranty book. Furthermore, the mechanic will check the condition of the vehicle and if it is according to the procedure, the car will be repaired or replaced with damaged components free of charge.
Warranty Expiration
Each car manufacturer usually has a different warranty period. However, in general, the warranty is valid for 3 years from the first purchase of the car unit or when the vehicle has reached a distance of 100,000 km.
The warranty can only be valid if the vehicle owner drives and takes good care of the car. You are also required to carry out periodic servicing at an official repair shop regularly starting from 1,000 km to 10,000 km. This periodic service will ensure that warranty claims are not invalidated because they already have recorded repair records.
The Difference Between Warranty and Guarantee
The warranty can be considered as part of the car guarantee because it guarantees only certain components. Meanwhile, the car guarantee is a quality guarantee given by the manufacturer for the products sold as a whole.
In other words, warranty only guarantees repair or replacement of damaged components. Meanwhile, the car guarantee is a form of the manufacturer’s commitment to repair, replace and return money if the goods or products are damaged or have problems during the warranty period.
Warranty and guarantee are two important things to consider when you buy a new product. Therefore, make sure you pay close attention to the guarantee and warranty manual so that you can submit a claim if at any time the vehicle experiences problems or damage that is still covered in the agreement.
