Building strategic collaborations to support the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem in the country

 

Cikarang, 30 November 2022 – PT SGMW Motor Indonesia (Wuling) has again shown its seriousness in developing a battery-based electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia by inaugurating a partnership with PT Gotion Green Energy Solutions Indonesia (Gotion High-Tech). The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing event was held at the Wuling factory located in Cikarang, West Java on last Monday, 28th November 2022. Through this collaboration, Wuling and Gotion have a long-term goal of innovating and developing electric vehicle batteries for the Indonesian automotive market.Foto 1 1 1 1000x667

The partnership agreement was signed by Shi Guoyong, President Director of Wuling Motors (left) and Hou Fei, Vice President of Gotion High-Tech & Chairman of Liuzhou Gotion Battery (right). Under this collaboration agreement, PT Gotion Green Energy Solutions Indonesia will provide good quality batteries and professional after-sales service for Wuling electric vehicle batteries. Representatives of PT SGMW Motor Indonesia and PT Gotion Green Energy Solutions Indonesia at the Wuling factory, Cikarang. Apart from producing electric vehicles, Wuling also invites other global companies to invest in Indonesia in order to support the accelerated electrification of domestic vehicles. One of these companies is PT Gotion Green Energy Solutions Indonesia which is engaged in manufacturing Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries.

Shi Guoyong, President Director of Wuling Motors, showed the assembly process of Wuling’s first electric vehicle inIndonesia, Air ev, to Hou Fei, Vice President of Gotion High-Tech & Chairman of Liuzhou Gotion Battery. By applying the ‘Global Manufacturing System’ (GMS), Wuling ensures that its factories are able to achieve production process efficiency and produce high quality products. Supported by facilities equipped with a variety of modern technologies, Wuling factories in Indonesia have the competence to produce not only cars with internal combustion engines, but also electric cars.

“We are going a step further by cooperating with one of the leading global battery component manufacturers in Indonesia. This strategic collaboration is a positive synergy in order to develop the electric vehicle ecosystem. We hope that with more and more parties collaborating, this can accelerate the vehicle electrification program in the country,” explained Shi Guoyong.
